Coordinate Reference System (CRS)

The foundation for accurate site alignment and data processing.

Setting up a Coordinate Reference System (CRS) is essential for enabling TraceAir's processing capabilities and ensuring accurate alignment of all project data. Without a CRS, the first flight and data processing cannot be completed. Please fill out the CRS form and upload the control plan along with the control points in PDF and CSV or DWG and CSV formats. The control plan is a requirement for TraceAir to place the Ground Control Points (GCPs). Additionally, details about both the Plane and Vertical CRS must be specified.

If CRS information is unclear or unavailable, we recommend consulting a surveyor or engineer for assistance.

1. Overview

To enable data processing and site alignment, we require a defined Coordinate Reference System (CRS). This setup includes information on both Plane and Vertical CRS, ensuring the accurate integration of all spatial data.

2. Process for Completing the CRS Form

Complete the CRS form by providing project-specific details and control points. We will review the submitted information and may request updates or corrections if needed to ensure data accuracy. Once the CRS form is approved, the setup process is complete.

3. Filling out the CRS Form

A control plan is optional for projects where you set the markers yourself and mandatory if TraceAir sets them.

* A control plan is a drawing on which existing control points are marked—points with accurate coordinates (Easting, Northing, Elevation) that can be easily identified on the ground. These points serve as reference markers for field surveys and include a description of their physical appearance, for instance, 'MAG NAIL.'
