Layout Generator lets you request additional data services directly from within the platform. This article explains what data you can request and how the process works.
What data can I request?
Click Request more data at the bottom of the Views or Layers panel in the left sidebar to access six data request types:
LiDAR Topo — a UAV-collected topography scan of the parcel, accurate to approximately 0.3 feet (compared to 1–2 feet for publicly available LiDAR). Use this when you're serious about a parcel and need more accurate elevation data for grading estimates.
Alta Survey — a detailed boundary and land title survey meeting ALTA/NSPS standards.
Utilities Sewer Map — mapping of existing utility and sewer infrastructure on or near the parcel.
Zone Regulation — detailed zoning regulation information for the parcel's jurisdiction.
Refine Conceptual Layout — a service where the TraceAir team refines and polishes your preliminary layout.
Quantities Takeoff — a more detailed earthwork quantities analysis.
How to submit a request
To request additional data:
- Open the Views or Layers panel in the left sidebar.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Request more data.
- Select the type of data you need.
- Click Send request to submit your request to the TraceAir team.
Since TraceAir already has your tract boundary from the layout, you do not need to re-specify the parcel — the request is seamless.
What happens after I submit a request?
After submitting a request, the TraceAir team will follow up with you regarding timeline and details. Turnaround times vary depending on the type of request, site location, and other factors.
The LiDAR topo scan data is delivered as a separate deliverable — it does not feed directly back into Layout Generator's built-in grading quantities tool.
Frequently asked questions
Does a LiDAR scan update my grading quantities automatically?
No. The LiDAR topo scan is delivered as a separate data file. It does not replace the publicly available LiDAR data used by Layout Generator's built-in Grading Quantities tool.
How much do these data requests cost?
